Our commitment
EcoScore should be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or who are sensitive to motion. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which is stricter than the WCAG 2.1 AA required by EN 301 549 under the European Accessibility Act.
Compliance status
EcoScore is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The limitations below are known, tracked, and being worked on. We would rather tell you what does not work yet than claim otherwise.
Known limitations
- No screen-reader pass has been completed yet. The work below was verified by inspecting the accessibility tree and by automated checks, not by using the product with a screen reader end to end. Treat everything in this statement as reviewed rather than proven.
- Status messages (WCAG 4.1.3). Saving settings, form errors and the route-level loading state are announced. Challenge completion is not yet.
- Charts (WCAG 1.4.1). Every chart carries its values as text, so nothing depends on colour alone. The pie chart cannot yet be explored by keyboard the way it can with a mouse — the same numbers are in the list beside it, so nothing is unreachable, but the interaction is not equivalent.
- Third-party audit. None has been carried out.
What already works
- All text meets AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
- Touch targets are at least 44×44 px on web and 48×48 dp on Android — the Android number is Google's own Material guidance, above the 44 that WCAG 2.2 asks for.
- Every control has an accessible name, and keyboard focus is visible on all of them.
- The calculator's answer options are real radio groups, so they announce your position in the set and respond to arrow keys.
- Validation messages are tied to their field and announced when they appear.
- The 3D globe has a 2D fallback, and no feature requires WebGL.
- Nothing in the product uses colour as the only way to convey a state.
- There are no time limits, no auto-playing media, and no content that flashes.
- The interface is available in English and Swedish, and each page declares its own language so a screen reader pronounces it correctly.
Report a barrier
If something in EcoScore blocks you, tell us and we will fix it. Email support@aver-web.se with what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We aim to reply within five working days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the Swedish Agency for Digital Government (DIGG) or the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), which supervise accessibility requirements in Sweden.
How we assess this
This statement is based on our own review: automated checks in CI — including tests that fail the build on a contrast regression — plus manual inspection of the accessibility tree on every screen.
It has not been audited by a third party, and we have not completed an end-to-end run with a screen reader. We are saying so rather than implying a level of testing we have not done.
